Goodrich
Forms Alliance to Speed Aircraft Parts to the Aftermarket
Agreement with Tracer combines on-the-ground parts
logistics and advanced customer support
CHARLOTTE, NC, Oct. 25, 2002 --
Goodrich Corporation has formed an alliance to streamline the
sale of its Aviation Technical Services division’s spare
parts inventory to customers such as airlines and providers of
maintenance repair and overhaul services. The Everett,
WA-based Aviation Technical Services team, working with
Tracer, an aircraft aftermarket parts and services provider,
has formed a three-year alliance to outsource the marketing
and sales of its spare parts inventory.
The Goodrich spare parts
inventory includes airframe and engine parts, Auxiliary Power
Units, wheels and brakes as well as a large number of aircraft
expendables.
According to Goodrich’s Guy
Ogino, Aviation Technical Services Director of Supply
Management, “With the Tracer alliance we are now able to
improve the flow of our inventory to the aftermarket, thus
allowing our customers to improve their turn times and save
money by keeping their aircraft flying as opposed to on the
ground waiting for parts. We are continuously examining our
processes and looking for opportunities for improvement. This
alliance allows us to focus on our core business of aircraft
maintenance, repair and overhaul services.”
In commenting on the new
alliance, Tracer CEO Bill Morales said, “We see four keys to
success in today’s aviation aftermarket; connectivity,
logistics, visibility and accountability. With our Goodrich
alliance, we’re bringing parts to market with both our
on-the-ground nationwide sales team and via our website, http://www.tracercorp.com.
Customers can browse online, then talk to a Tracer customer
support specialist to ensure they’re ordering the right part
for the right application. Our partnership with Goodrich is a
great example of two progressive aerospace companies finding
new ways to make life easier for our customers.”
Tracer has developed parts
partnerships with leading airlines, OEMs and aftermarket
suppliers. The company’s sales and service capabilities and
Internet presence provides airlines, aviation MROs, OEMs,
resellers and aviation parts brokers with a one-stop source
for parts. Tracer’s website contains a large array of
aircraft parts, all with full certification and traceability,
available for browsing, without registration, by aviation
parts buyers.
